Priority Ambulance today announced its intention to purchase Trans Am Ambulance Services Inc. of Olean, N.Y., subject to approval of the sale by the New York State Department of Health and the New York Department of Transportation.
“For more than 30 years, Trans Am Ambulance Services has provided excellent emergency medical service to the residents of the Greater Olean area,” said Ruth Reisner, CEO of Trans Am. “Thanks to our superior management staff, employees in the field and our office staff for their dedication to quality service. Our customers can expect the same high level of care, expert EMTs and paramedics that have always been associated with the Trans Am name.”
“We are excited to experience the benefits and additional resources of connecting with a national company,” said Todd Reisner, general manager of Trans Am. “Joining Priority’s national network will help us continue to be competitive in our market, grow our company and continue to provide high-quality emergency and nonemergency medical service to our community.”
Bryan Gibson, CEO of Priority Ambulance, said Trans Am will be a valuable addition to Priority’s national network of ambulance companies. He also announced that Todd and Anna Reisner will continue in their current capacities and will be a key part of the management team in New York.
“We are excited to welcome the Reisners and their team to Priority and believe Trans Am will be an excellent addition to our family,” Gibson said. “At Priority Ambulance, the communities we serve are our No. 1 priority. Trans Am’s staff and management team are integrally connected to the fabric of the Olean community and will continue to serve their friends and neighbors for many years to come.”
Trans Am Ambulance Service provides emergency and nonemergency medical transportation services to Cattaraugus County and the Village and Town of Cuba in Allegany County in west Upstate New York. The company also serves customers in McKean and Potter counties in northwestern Pennsylvania. The company will continue to do business as Trans Am Ambulance, and there will be no interruption in services to the communities in either Pennsylvania or New York.
Walt and Ruth Reisner started Trans Am in 1982 with the goal to supplement and assist the local emergency medical system. Trans Am collaborates with local medical transportation companies and medical facilities to fill critical needs in the market.
Trans Am operates nine ambulances, nine wheelchair vans and three advanced life support intercept vehicles that meet ambulances in the field with patients that require critical care paramedics and equipment and medications associated with a higher level of care.
Trans Am represents Priority Ambulance’s second expansion into the state of New York. Operating as Kunkel Ambulance, Priority Ambulance provides emergency medical services to the city of Utica and the Mohawk Valley in Upstate New York.
